ABOUT US

Ho’oku’i Outrigger Canoe Club, is a member-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a passion for having fun while preserving and promoting outrigger canoe culture. Based at Shoreline Park in Mountain View, California, Ho’oku’i is made up of a diverse group of paddlers. Members come to our team with varying athletic backgrounds, some looking to be highly competitive and others for a social and athletic outlet. Ho’oku’i, in Hawaiian, means “to join together” and the name couldn’t be more fitting. We welcome paddlers young and old, experienced or completely new to the sport of outrigger paddling to join us on the water.

For the competitive amongst us, Ho’oku’i participates in competitive paddling events. Racing events include summer sprint races, long distance races throughout California, Hawaii, New York, etc… Teams are made up of junior paddlers (12-19), novice, women, men and coed crews.

Ho’oku’i is part of the Northern California Outrigger Canoe Association (NCOCA) and participates in races with other canoe clubs and teams. Ho’oku’i actively promotes good sportsmanship among members and between other teams. Come join us for some fun and healthy physical fitness.
